Three suspects reportedly involved in the robbery of a Roman Catholic priest on Saturday morning were intercepted and arrested by police officers along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway, Freeport.

Preliminary reports stated that Father Maurice White is currently hospitalized after being shot during a car robbery early on Saturday in Sangre Grande.

The officers with the aid of the Air Support Tactical Support Unit were able to spot the suspects during their attempted escape.

Fr. Robert Christo, Vicar for Communications in the Archdiocese, has confirmed the incident and stated that an official statement with further details will be released soon.
